Hey Guys!
I’d like to introduce you to VousDeux. Born at the crossroads of 2 veteran DJ’s repertoires, VousDeux is the result of discovering that the deeper ends of their genres were musically compatible. Indeed the resulting sounds conjured up some dark magic, resulting in the fledgling duo getting some gigs and building a small but loyal following.
Instead of the normal practice of 2 DJ’s duelling head-to-head like swordsmen with headphones on Liv and Texas look at VousDeux as more a duet then a duel. They try and build their set together and allow each other to build on their track choices, while at the same time still allowing their individual styles to be heard.
Know that moment when you are on the dancefloor and that song comes on and you catch your mate’s eye and wordlessly go OH MY GOD CAN YOU HEAR THAT? Thats what Liv and Tex try and make happen each time they get together and make VousDeux. They want each mix to sound like they are letting you listen in on a Sunday morning jam session instead of a ‘DJ-Off.’

Hey guys!
First new mix in awhile comes from me. It’s a 2 hour set from a house party that has become a bit of a Grand Final Day tradition with me and my friends. It’s more ‘party’ than ‘watching the footy’ however, with plenty of DJ’s in our group of friends there’s usually an abundance of good tunes to go along with the BBQ, beer and cries of “BALL!”
This was recorded after the final siren, and considering the time of day and level of… shall we say… excitement it’s actually not too bad – in fact it’s worthy of sharing in my opinion.
It’s in my usual genres – house, prog and electro, and it moves between them all in a not too shabby way… I think so anyhow. As one of the people who I get to ‘quality control’ my mixes said: “it’s as loose as you would expect for Grand Final Day!”

PS: I know I’ve been a but slack due to some circumstances beyond my control, but all things must pass so I’m able to get back into recording/blogging/hassling people for mixes again.

Hey Listeners!
Sorry I have been a bit slack – combo of hectic times at work and a holiday! This post comes to you from the heart of Essendon, Victoria!
Time for one of my mixes this week. As I have said in the past I struggle to find new names for them all the time, so I stick to ‘generic’ ones based on the style. This is a Late Night Deep, so it’s (obviously) at the deeper end of the House spectrum.
This mix is an odd one in that I recorded it initially about a month ago, listened back… but wasn’t happy with it. And I couldn’t work out why. So I asked some friends to have a ‘critical’ listen and they all suggested that the final third wasn’t ‘matched’ to the first 2/3 of the mix. So I put it aside for awhile and then came back to it and had another crack. This time I was much happier with the results, and I really hope you enjoy listening as much I did making it.

Liv – Progressive Trance Mix

Today’s mix comes from Liv, a stalwart of the local Trance scene. This mix is firmly at the Prog end of Trance Street, as she says in her comment:

“This mix is intended to be a demonstration of the rich melodies and irresistible groove that you’ll quite often find at the progressive end of the trance spectrum. Flamenco guitars, pianos, and some sexy, sexy alto sax all make an appearance. It makes me wish I could find a sunny beach with some warm sand to dance in, so I hope it does the same for you.”

This mix had the distinction of being the first track I played on my new iPhone and it a pretty damn good way to break it in. For those who don’t play the ‘genre games’ with Dance music this may not sound all that different from some of my mixes; indeed Liv and myself have formed a ‘proto-duo’ to play these sounds together track-for-track because the tracks work together so well and the lines between the genres are so blurred. You will hear from VousDeux (me and Liv) soon, but for now here’s Liv’s latest.
