I’d like to introduce you to VousDeux. Born at the crossroads of 2 veteran DJ’s repertoires, VousDeux is the result of discovering that the deeper ends of their genres were musically compatible. Indeed the resulting sounds conjured up some dark magic, resulting in the fledgling duo getting some gigs and building a small but loyal following.
Instead of the normal practice of 2 DJ’s duelling head-to-head like swordsmen with headphones on Liv and Texas look at VousDeux as more a duet then a duel. They try and build their set together and allow each other to build on their track choices, while at the same time still allowing their individual styles to be heard.
Know that moment when you are on the dancefloor and that song comes on and you catch your mate’s eye and wordlessly go OH MY GOD CAN YOU HEAR THAT? Thats what Liv and Tex try and make happen each time they get together and make VousDeux. They want each mix to sound like they are letting you listen in on a Sunday morning jam session instead of a ‘DJ-Off.’
2 mates discovered they can DJ together and make something special happen. They now want to share it with you.

Hey guys!
First new mix in awhile comes from me. It’s a 2 hour set from a house party that has become a bit of a Grand Final Day tradition with me and my friends. It’s more ‘party’ than ‘watching the footy’ however, with plenty of DJ’s in our group of friends there’s usually an abundance of good tunes to go along with the BBQ, beer and cries of “BALL!”
This was recorded after the final siren, and considering the time of day and level of… shall we say… excitement it’s actually not too bad – in fact it’s worthy of sharing in my opinion.
It’s in my usual genres – house, prog and electro, and it moves between them all in a not too shabby way… I think so anyhow. As one of the people who I get to ‘quality control’ my mixes said: “it’s as loose as you would expect for Grand Final Day!”
Enjoy!
PS: I know I’ve been a but slack due to some circumstances beyond my control, but all things must pass so I’m able to get back into recording/blogging/hassling people for mixes again.

“This is the mix that I played at the last Bexta Mixology launch @ PICKLE VS PITCH BLACK @ SYRUP in October.
It was an awesome night and from the reaction of the crowd and the feedback I was given every one really liked it so I went home and recorded it so that I could send it out to you all to enjoy again.
Thanks a lot to those of you that stayed & danced hard till the lights came on to make it such an enjoyable night for me as well, its your support and enjoyment of what I do that makes me love playing trance whenever I get the chance.”

I was there and I can confirm there was much shaking of booty during the set. Enjoy!

“Here’s a mix that I put together for the first TraskTek. With another TraskTek coming in January, and I ♥ Techno (Dec 11th @ Syrup) and Pitch Black: Summerstyle coming up before then I thought I’d better get it out there. Starting out driving, going through the Latin, tribal sound that’s becoming a bit of a trademark for me, then on to some bangin’ stuff, there should be something for pretty much anyone on this. Enjoy the mix, and I hope to see some of you on the 11th.”

Get it, play it LOUD! Go see this man @ Syrup next Friday night if you are a local, you won’t be disappointed!

Hey Listeners!
Sorry I have been a bit slack – combo of hectic times at work and a holiday! This post comes to you from the heart of Essendon, Victoria!
Time for one of my mixes this week. As I have said in the past I struggle to find new names for them all the time, so I stick to ‘generic’ ones based on the style. This is a Late Night Deep, so it’s (obviously) at the deeper end of the House spectrum.
This mix is an odd one in that I recorded it initially about a month ago, listened back… but wasn’t happy with it. And I couldn’t work out why. So I asked some friends to have a ‘critical’ listen and they all suggested that the final third wasn’t ‘matched’ to the first 2/3 of the mix. So I put it aside for awhile and then came back to it and had another crack. This time I was much happier with the results, and I really hope you enjoy listening as much I did making it.

 <itunes:summary>Hey Gang!
For your weekend edification I have a live mix from our own Mr Boompty, St.Nick! Recorded live at Syrup on Friday 28th August St.Nick was last man up and rocked the floor until the place closed! Here's the man's own words:

“Adios Winter” came from the bumpin’ La Casa dance floor at Syrup, on the last weekend of Winter. With snow on Mount Wellington, and summer just ‘round the corner, the La Casa crew decided to beckon an early summer with some damn fine House Music!!

And we got a tracklisting this time too! Get it down and play it loud this weekend!

It’s been a tough week for many of us in Hobart; we lost a good friend last Sunday. He was a gentle giant of a man, incredibly talented artistically, funny and kind. I’ll always remember him for sneaking up behind me when I’m mixing and slowing down one deck on purpose and then looking all innocent when I spun around.
Tarsh, I hope you find peace mate. You will be forever missed.

Cam is a newcomer to the DJ scene in Hobart, who has been building his craft playing recently at Cargo. I’ve been after him for a mix for a long while… and I was pleasantly surprised to find this in my inbox on a gloomy Monday. I’ve just included Cam’s words as they are:

“I recorded this mix last Saturday night (29 August) without any real intention or purpose to it – it’s just a selection of tracks I’ve collected over the last year or so that I thought were, well, “nice”. Listening to it later, I thought that while it doesn’t really follow a conventional progression, it does seem to move through a variety of moods and emotions. Of course, I had no idea at the time that around 36 hours later I would learn of the tragic passing of a very good friend to many of us. The timing of the two may well mean that I will always remember the feelings that I, and I expect many others, have felt at this time whenever I listen to this mix or indeed, some of the tracks within it. Here it is for others to enjoy if they so please.

This is by no means a ‘sad’ mix and it is fitting that all of the memories and experiences I had with Tarsh were good times. By coincidence, the last track on this mix is quite fitting… for the good times, Tarsh – we will all remember.”
